I've spent my entire career in Special Education. I began at the New England Center for Children, one of the most respected ABA programs in the country, followed by teaching in NYC public school, providing early intervention services, and then consulting with families and private schools in Madrid, Spain.
Upon moving to California in 2010, I began working in the public schools as a BCBA, supporting students from kindergarten to high school. Over time I became increasingly interested in ADHD and executive functioning, particularly how often ADHD-related challenges are misinterpreted as behavioral problems rather than skill deficits. That led me to pursue the ADHD-CCSP credential and expand my work helping families find more effective supports.
For the past ten years, I've also run social and play skills groups for children. I understand how schools assess students, develop supports, and make decisions. Perhaps more importantly, I understand parenthood. I have two children who went through the same school system but with very different needs and thus very different experiences. Nothing is harder than watching your child struggle and not know how to help.
Your child is more than capable. And so are you.
